Nice Day!

This nice weather makes it so hard,
To not go and work in the yard.
A head start I seek,
'Cause Spring Break's next week.
Against soreness now I must guard.

Pinwheels

These pinwheel colors are bright.
For my birthday they made quite a sight.
The wind makes them spin,
Which inspires a grin.
They need lights on them when it turns night.

Yard Day

When we have a nice Fall weather break,
It's time to go prune, mow and rake.
Now our yard looks nice,
For no extra price.
I don't even have a back ache!

Getting Closer

This planter is almost complete.
I've added soil, quite the hard feat.
Now there's compost to add,
Some plants to be had.
I think that it looks pretty neat!

Dethatching

My lawn has a thick layer of thatch.
So I'm removing it patch by patch.
A big mess it does make,
That I have to rake.
Taking care of the yard has a catch.

Barkdust

For me, summers off is a perk.
But that also means I do more yard work.
So today I spread bark,
Now it looks like a park.
Next time maybe I'll hire a merc.

More Plants - Clematis

I'm attempting to make my yard fine,
So I planted these two climbing vines.
They should grow and bloom,
If the deer don't consume.
They grow best in shade not sunshine.

First Winter Mow

Just finished out first winter mow.
Big enough, although not a chateau.
We've not done it yet
'Cause it has been so wet.
And the yardwork we've had to forego.

Spring Cleanup

I've been working outside in the yard,
Planting new plants, the old I discard.
If there's one thing I've learned,
That has me concerned,
It's that kneeling, then standing is hard.

Shrubbery

I made myself a silly pledge,
That today I would trim up my hedge.
Now my trimming chore,
It made my back sore.
But at least now it has a nice edge.

Lumberjack!

We had to cut down this big tree.
Now the chopping wood is up to me.
I use this old axe,
Which leads to sore backs.
But now more of our yard we can see.

Water Feature.

Although it is not avante-garde,
I made this fountain in my yard.
It needs little upkeep,
And was pretty cheap.
Constructing it wasn't too hard.

Yard Work

I want my back yard to inspire,
So I put on my working attire.
I made piles of brush,
But then got a rush;
I used them to make a big fire!
