Weekend!

This weekend is longer than most.

So I should have time to write and post.

But we need to remember,

Fallen service members.

Can we do that while we grill and roast?

Holiday Weekend

For many this weekend is long,

To honor a man who was strong.

Remember his dream.

It isn't extreme.

To treat people so different is wrong.

I'm hoping that I'll get inspired, 

But I'm sitting here feeling real tired.

I should be in bed,

But I'm writing instead.

A long weekend is what is required!

Weekend!

Today is the end of my week,

So some relaxation I will seek.

Maybe go to the beach,

Instead of just teach?

I just hope that my back I won't tweak!

We await its arrival all week,

As the fun of the weekend we seek.

But as we all know,

It quickly will go,

And the thought of a Monday is bleak.
