First Grill

Today I cooked meat on the grill.

I admit that it gave me a thrill.

The weather is better,

More drier than wetter.

My suburban dad duty's fulfilled.

Pre Thanksgiving Turkey

Here's our turkey after the thaw.
It's so pale, naked and raw.
After time in the oven,
Hot meat we'll be lovin'.
We've got lots of food here to gnaw.

Meat Pie

This looked like a yummy meat pie.

So this recipe I'm going to try.

It takes time to make,

To assemble and bake.

But the anticipation is high!

Finished Product

Homemade tomato soup and fresh bread.
For dinner made quite a great spread.
I dipped the grilled cheese,
It was the bee's knees.
As you can see we are well fed.

 

Radish Chips

Today I am trying to be hip,

By making some cool radish chips.

I'll make them much dryer

In my neat air fryer.

I just hope that my knife won't slip.

Skewered

 Of red meats we're eating fewer,

So these veggies I'm going to skewer.

I'll cook on the grill,

Then I'll eat my fill.

I'm the cook but I'm also the chewer.

Broccoli

I got out our silicon mat.

Upon it our broccoli sat.

The colors contrast

With a visual blast.

It's actually hard to look at.

Air Fryer

Just to make sure you're aware,
Our home is now frying with air.
While not using oil,
We're opting to broil.

Beach Cookin'

Last week for a dinner, we planned,

To cook over fire in the sand.

A hot dog and s'more,

Cooked right at the shore.

I'd say that my dinner was grand!

Carnitas

I love it when I dig my fork,

Into this tasty dish of pork.

Cooked up in my crock,

With pico and guac.

Served with a drink that you uncork.

Homemade Tater Tots

I may seem to be a big shot,

But I do crave a nice tater tot.

Tonight I did toil,

Cooked them in oil.

My family liked them a lot.

Ordering Out

Tonight's dinner we don't want to make,

So food from a restaurant we will take.

But sit in? Oh no.

We got it to go.

From cooking it was a nice break.

First Zucchini

This great event fills us with joy,

But as they stack up, then just annoy.

I'll saute and bake,

Make sweet bread and cake.

New recipes I will employ.

Homemade Sourdough

My wife added to her cooking cred.

As a bonus, I'm feeling well fed.

The fresh baking smell,

Sure made sniffing swell.

From scratch she made sourdough bread.

Homemade Donuts

These donuts are fresh from the oil,

The results of my daughter's hard toil.

I've been a good dad,

Several samples I've had.

My appetite I sure did spoil!

Ramen

You know ramen makes a quick meal,

And it's usually a really good deal.

It's easy to make,

No lessons to take.

For some reason it doesn't seem real.

Flatbread

My daughter tried making some bread.

But it didn't rise; is flat instead.

It tasted okay,

Though not quite gourmet.

The directions were just not well read.

Pizza

You know that it's been a long day,

When you're getting pizza on the way.

When we overbook,

No one wants to cook.

But you know what? Sometimes that's ok!

Chocolate Cake

Last night I decided to make,

This delicious chocolate cake.

I made it from scratch,

It's taste has no match.

So now I think I like to bake!
