Snack Heaven

 When I'm camping it is hard to top,

A fresh batch of warm Jiffy Pop.

A few minutes of toil,

Will expand the foil.

Once I get started, it's hard to stop.

Camping Lite

It's the start of the outdoorsy year.

And we've updated our camping gear.

There's not as much stuff,

But it should be enough.

It worked last night, that much is clear.

Camping In the Rain

 It really is such a big pain,

To try tent camping in the rain.

There were times it was nice,

But now we'll pay the price.

'Cause we have to dry our stuff again.

Camping Again!

 We went camping, not quite the frontier,

But the first time in over a year.

I float in the river,

Until I did shiver.

We were very happy to stay here.

Hot Chocolate Chipmunk

One evening while we were camping,

This chipmunk became what was happening.

He tipped the orange cup,

And lapped it all up.

Our hot chocolate he was sampling!

Camping

It's the first camping trip of the year,

I'm excited to try out new gear.

The trailer is sold,

Too much water and mold.

Now to the beach where we won't sear.

Camping Beagles

It's warm at today's camping spot, 

And our dogs like to nap when it's hot. 

They are not in the shade

'Cause the sun's going to fade. 

Energetic puppies they are not. 

Canned Bacon?

Some things should just never be done.

I think making canned bacon is one.

In fact I allege,

It is sacrilege.

If they open this can I'll have none!

Campfire Cooking

After building a fire that is hot,

I like cooking food without a pot.

Like most meals I concoct,

This stuffed pepper rocked.

While camping I do eat a lot.

a small pepper stuffed with a lil' smokie, and string cheese.

Well Done S'mores

Marshmallows we think of the most,

But graham crackers you can also toast.

Just put them on wire,

And set them on fire.

It's really the best way to roast!

Oregon History

Our state's history would be screwy,

Without this event at Champoeg.

They all took a vote,

And history was wrote,

It almost all went kablooey.

S'mores

They're sticky and yummy and sweet.

As a camp snack they are hard to beat.

You can't have just one

'Cause to make them's so fun.

It's our kids' favorite camping out treat!

Summer's over

It's the last week before we start school.

And the weather is starting to get cool.

I'm heading out soon

To with nature attune.

You'll find me at the fire adding fuel.

Night skies

The big dipper's shining up high

As the stars appear bright in the sky.

The moon on the lake

Reflects just for my sake..

It's something that money can't buy.
