McKenzie River Trail

We had some light rain, but no fog.

Some small streams we crossed on a log.

It's something we like,

Together we hike.

And we bring along our little dog.

Oopsie!

This small pond was really dark brown.
The duckweed covered it like a crown.
Our small dog fell in,
Luckily he can swim.
I was really afraid he would drown.

 

Poor Dog

 

This poor pup just seems so neglected.
With blankets that we have collected.
His people were here,
So he got loves, don't fear.
To many pats he was subjected.

Pet Love

This holiday I will celebrate.
With my cute, small, furry roommate.
This holiday I get,
It's just Love Your Pet.
It's normal, so we won't forget.

Lap Dog

 My dog crawled up into my lap,

Where he settled down for a short nap.

Which he happily took,

While I read my book.

He turned into a snuggle trap.

We wanted to enjoy this nice weather,

So we drove to the beach together.

Here is our small dog,

RIP Lexi

This pic of her makes her look regal.

Even for a small purebred beagle.

She's still in our thoughts.

We will miss her lots.

Now she can run after the seagulls.

Doorbell

We have a loud, chiming doorbell,

Which gets rung by people who do sell.

But our dog's not a fan.

He barks loud as he can.

Which can be at a high decibel.

Barking Beagle Blues

Our beagle is getting so old.

For her constant barking we do scold.

I think she forgets, 

Or is having regrets.

Sometimes she cannot be consoled.

Shakespeare In Love

We saw this show at matinee.

It's a funny, and serious play.

I'll be sure to log,

There is a live dog.

And it does more than sit, shake or stay.

Beagle Protest

Yesterday I was mowing the lawn,
But my beagle was not moving on.
It can't be too loud
'Cause she can't hear a sound.
I think she wants the lawn mower gone.

 

Dog Walking

Today I was walking the dogs.
For the beagle, each outing's a slog.
But they both like to see,
Sniff stuff and go pee.
But I can't take them out for a jog.

 

No Nap For Me

 Just after I'm down for a nap,
My beagle decided to yap.
She wanted outside,
But not really, she lied.
So my napping plans I had to scrap.

Poop

Our beagle is getting so old,

And sometimes her bowels won't hold.

So we find little piles

That sometimes are vile.

Into one pile the roomba has rolled.

Lincoln Logs

What's my limerick for today's blog?

I used to love my Lincoln Logs.

My days were then filled

With a creative build.

And beside me is my first dog!

Who Let the Dogs Out?

My dog barks when she needs to pee,

Who opens the door? Usually me.

She waits (she's a twit)

Until I go to sit.

I'm sure that it causes her glee.

RIP Patsy

She was not what you might call regal.

And lately, she got very feeble.

Now she's running down knolls, 

Eating bacon and rolls. 

We just had to put down our beagle.

Sunset Pet

It's about as cute as you can get,

Watching the day end with your pet.

And she didn't bark,

The more it got dark.

It was a beautiful sunset.

Close Call

We almost paid a very high price,

For putting down poison for mice.

Our dog got to it,

And swallowed a bit.

But now she is feeling so nice.
