First Grill

Today I cooked meat on the grill.

I admit that it gave me a thrill.

The weather is better,

More drier than wetter.

My suburban dad duty's fulfilled.

Dinner Plans

I'm trying to choose what to make.

Do I saute, stir fry, or just bake?

I try not to repeat,

What I'm making to eat.

But I do like potatoes and steak!

Dinner Out

One benefit of going out,
Is new restaurants to go scout.
So here's what I ate.
These tacos were great.
Now Corvallis Tacovore I will tout.

 

Yum

I don't think that food can be macho,
And I'm no longer a muchacho.
But this Mexican dish,
Is what I did wish.
It's full cookie sheet of good nacho!

 

Happy Birthday

On my birthday I wanted a treat-a,

Went to dinner with my senorita.

Got some Mexican food,

Which was really good,

And a yummy mango margarita.

Mac n ?

I really do like Mac and cheese,

But my stomach it does displease.

To keep me well fed, 

It's vegan, instead.

Except I added 'Lil Smokies.

 

Cute Glass

We went out for drinks and sushi,

I bought a glass of Iced Thai Tea

I thought I would share,

This cute little bear.

Who just sat there staring at me.

Nachos

This is my appetizer of choice,

When eating, my taste buds rejoice.

A culinary dream,

Topped with sour cream.

As they set it down, I'll say, "Noice!"

Pre Thanksgiving Turkey

Here's our turkey after the thaw.
It's so pale, naked and raw.
After time in the oven,
Hot meat we'll be lovin'.
We've got lots of food here to gnaw.

Meat Pie

This looked like a yummy meat pie.

So this recipe I'm going to try.

It takes time to make,

To assemble and bake.

But the anticipation is high!

Finished Product

Homemade tomato soup and fresh bread.
For dinner made quite a great spread.
I dipped the grilled cheese,
It was the bee's knees.
As you can see we are well fed.

 

Skewered

 Of red meats we're eating fewer,

So these veggies I'm going to skewer.

I'll cook on the grill,

Then I'll eat my fill.

I'm the cook but I'm also the chewer.

Broccoli

I got out our silicon mat.

Upon it our broccoli sat.

The colors contrast

With a visual blast.

It's actually hard to look at.

Holiday BBQ

 Got invited to dinner with friends.

Of course my wife and I attend.

I think there's no doubt.

It's good to hang out.

Our weekend plans it did transcend.

Sandwich Noms

 Last night I made this grilled cheese.

The taste and texture sure did please.

With butternut squash,

To make it real posh.

My appetite it did appease.

Mayan food

We tried out a new place to eat,

Before a concert we did meet.

The cuisine was Mayan,

It was well worth buyin'.

A cider made this meal complete.

 

BLTease.

Tonight's dinner was a BLT.
'Cause to make it is quick and easy.
With sourdough bread,
I'm feeling well fed.
The bacon was hot and crispy.

 

Mushroom Soup

 I wanted to cook something new,

But either a soup or a stew.

 Although fungus based,

I did like the taste.

And there wasn't much in it to chew.

Dinner Time

The walk to his room I do dread,

So I text him a picture instead. 

It's his dinner bell,

It seems to work well.

I sent him this picture of bread.

With a drink in my hand I was chillin'.

On the BBQ chicken was grillin'.

Zucchini and squash,

Made my dinner posh.

Add watermelon and my, it was fillin'!
