Tired Out

They played their third game in a row.

In today's game they were a bit slow.

They'll get a day's rest,

Before their next quest.

Now I'm hearing her tale of woe.

Soccer Season

So now soccer season is here.

I went to my first game of the year.

They played till they're sore,

But out team didn't score.

There just wasn't much we could cheer.

Goooooaaaaaaalllllll!!!!

Though usually no offensive threat,

My daughter shot one in the net!

It just isn't fair,

That I wasn't there.

Am I proud of her scoring? You bet!

Real Soccer

Tonight I heard my girl complain,

That in both of her legs there was pain.

She played really hard,

And did not get a card.

But today's game was played in some rain.

Soccer Game

Our opponent was going to be tough,

And they were physical, very rough.

We put up a fight,

Our team played all right.

But tonight that just wasn't enough.

Varsity Soccer

It's my younger daughter's freshman year,

Her first soccer game filled me with cheer.

She's starting, by God!

On the varsity squad!

And she played like a pro, without fear.

Soccer Season

I've got two kids on soccer teams,

On the same team? Only in my dreams.

They both play for fun.

So far there's been sun.

Soon the rain will be coming in streams.

Last Game

Today soccer season did end.

This year losing games was the trend.

I did watch my child,

While weather was mild.

Now less time outside I will spend.

Soccer Injury

During practice a girl broke her wrist.

She fell, tried to catch, took a twist.

She should be ok,

But now cannot play.

For the rest of the year she'll be missed.

Victory!

My daughter's team earned today's win.

Three times they kicked soccer balls in.

They played with control,

And passed for each goal.

At the end they were all wearing a grin.

Fall

Next week is the first day of Fall,

But I'm not excited at all.

The rain will return,

Which causes concern.

Since I'll be outside watching ball.

New Cleats

A big help to soccer athletes,

Is wearing a good pair of cleats.

My kids outgrew theirs,

So we bought 2 pairs.

You can bet I'll be saving receipts.

Practice Time

It's a sure sign that summer is done.

Having soccer practice in the sun.

I bet they'll be sore,

Last year's shoes they wore.

But it still looks like they had some fun.

World Cup Winners!

The US team really scored quick,

Which included this fortunate kick.

With her great scoring burst,

This year was a first.

From all of my pictures I pick,

This one of my daughter's big kick.

Her defense was strong, 

It flew straight and long.

She really gave it a good lick!

Soccer Season Again!

When schedules were finally revealed,

We saw both games were on the same field.

'Tho both games were lost,

No players got tossed.

For a long tough season I am steeled.

Jamboree!

Today was soccer jamboree,

Each team in league they want to see.

We spent the whole day,

Watching our kids play.

It was fun, but the temp was toasty.

Germany Wins!

The World Cup, held in Brazil,

Was won with the score one to nil.

The Germans did win

When Götze kicked in,

With a shot that required much skill.

With the final score seven to one,

The host country's team is now done.

It's the biggest of routs, 

Given by the Krauts.

The home town crowds there it did stun.

USA is OUT

Our team made it out of the group,

But lost to a good Belgian troop.

They gave it their all,

Their fans had a ball.

This loss should not make our head droop.
