Cherries!

It is now the season for cherries.

They are a fruit, just not like berries.

They're part of a group,

With pits called a drupe.

But when baked they are confectioneries!

Green Cherries

I know it is early to gripe, 

But these cherries are not very ripe.

They're still very green,

Just like a small bean.

This year I hope the birds won't swipe.
