Happy Thanksgiving

We took the dogs for a long walk.

At this view I could not help but gawk.

I like our small town,

Even when it is brown.

I'm thankful, and that is no crock.

Thanksgiving Eve

The kids are all home for a while.

Which is a big reason to smile.

Tomorrow we'll eat,

Both savory and sweet.

Time with family is worthwhile.

Break Time

It's already Thanksgiving Break.

So a few extra days I will take.

Conferences again,

So grades I'll explain.

Then a big ol' turkey I will bake.

Pre Thanksgiving Turkey

Here's our turkey after the thaw.
It's so pale, naked and raw.
After time in the oven,
Hot meat we'll be lovin'.
We've got lots of food here to gnaw.

Thanksgiving Eve

The kids are coming for Thanksgiving.

For a few days, together we're living.

We'll eat, laugh and play,

For Thanksgiving Day.

For all this, much thanks am I giving.

Grocery Shopping

 Our normal grocery shopping haul,

Is just a few bags, pretty small.

But with Thanksgiving feast

That will double, at least.

I hope our fridge will hold it all.

Thanksgiving Break

I'm starting a short one week break.

Some time to relax I will take.

Will I sleep in? No.

I'll play lots of games, though.

And a Thanksgiving dinner I'll make.

Feast

You can see that we had quite the spread.
A lot more than just meat and bread.
With desserts and sides,
Our family provides.
We are ready for what lies ahead.

 It's more than just turkey and pie.

'Though on my list, those things are high.

It's when family meets,

In between all the eats.

And take time before the goodbye.

We finally had the beg meal,

Many potatoes I did peel.

But I will not lie,

My favorite was pie.

'Cause the whipped cream we used was real!

So now I'm feeling like a jerk,

Since one of our family did work.

Our meal had to wait,

Only one day late.

So my carving duty I did shirk.

Thanksgiving Eve

Tonight it is Thanksgiving Eve.

From work many get a reprieve.

Then our family and friends, 

Their time with us spends.

And we eat until it's time to leave.

Lumberjacks

On Thanksgiving we killed this tree,

Our chainsaws were brandished with glee.

It leaned way too far, 

And threatened a car.

Now firewood we have for free!

Leftover Love

After eating the Thanksgiving meal,

There's food left, sometimes a great deal.

We'll nibble and graze,

It goes on for days.

Till your stomach you no longer feel.

Giving Thanks

It's nice having a day to stop,

And the unimportant things drop.

There's no doing pranks,

Just us giving thanks.

Then planning where we're going to shop.

Thanksgiving Eve

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day,

In the morning we'll be on our way.

We'll have dinner, of course,

And eat like a horse.

But first, for our blessings, we'll pray!

Holiday Break

Today is Thanksgiving Eve Eve,

From work I get a short reprieve.

With family we'll meet, 

Tell stories and eat!

It's the best time of year, I believe.

Cyber Monday

There's one more named day you should shop.

If Black Friday for you was a flop.

You can, if you dare,

Shop in underwear.

'Cause from home who will make you stop?

Black Friday

They say that this Friday is black.

Which is great if shopping's your knack.

You're up before dawn, 

Then all day you yawn.

From all of the sleep that you lack.

Giving Thanks

This Pilgrim tradition goes on,

We feast till the food is all gone.

Pick breast meat or thigh,

Then on to the pie.

Choose pumpkin or yummy pecan.
